Ooh this is lovely. I like the Ainsley Harriot cuppa soups I've had in the past, so when I saw that they were all reduced to half price in my local Tesco I grabbed a bunch of them. I hope it doesn't mean that Symington's have stopped making them. Anyway, when grabbing them I didn't notice that this chicken soup has real piece of chicken in it. As a veggie that's a bit annoying. My wife says that as it's called "chicken" soup that should have given me a clue - but I am used to chicken crisps with no chicken, and chicken noodles with no chicken, so I didn't really think. Sigh. Anyway, it's not a religion for me, so I have been drinking it, dead chicken and all. And it is nice (though the chicken bits leave me a little queasy). Very smooth and creamy (plenty of potato starch, but it doesn't taste like powdery potato mash - this does taste creamy), and with a wonderful balance of lime and lemongrass, with just a hint of heat from the red pepper and ginger. Oh, yes. Nice. Make this with artificial chicken and it would become my favourite all time cuppa soup. As it is, to be honest I have to give it a high score, but deduct one point for using dead chickens.
Score: 9/10
